WCL-X100: Lens wide angle conversion for Fujifilm X100
Fujifilm has announced the launch of the WCL -X100, a conversion lens to wide angle designed specifically for Fujifilm X100. The objective is coupled directly into the camera and increases the versatility of shooting changing the fixed focal length (one of the drawbacks that put some users) by a factor of 0.8x, from a fixed focal length of 23 mm ( equivalent to 35 mm in a 35 mm) at a wide angle of 19 mm (equivalent to 28 mm in a 35 mm).
To enable this additional function (in the menu on the X100), the camera needs to be updated to version 1.30 or later firmware , which also lets you select the option using the buttons Fn (function) or RAW .
By selecting the option "Conversion lens to wide angle" , the Fujifilm X100 automatically applies image processing to the photos taken with the WCL -X100 to reduce image distortion, guaranteeing a balanced lighting throughout the frame and reducing the chromatic aberration common in conversion lenses to wide angle.
