Hipstamatic to launch a training platform for photojournalists

Synthetic , the creator of the popular application Hipstamatic for IOS, announced it is planning to launch a training platform called Hipstamatic Foundation for Photojournalism that will support the new generation of photojournalists who use their mobile phone as a photographic tool for storytelling (using your Hipstamatic application, that is).

According to the director of the company, Lucas Allen Buick, the idea is to have professional photographers devote some time to give advice and educate other photographers who are to perform a particular job for which they have good knowledge, for such as how to move certain guarantees and security in a troubled country.

But in addition, will also be a tool to get the funds needed and distribute their work without going crazy looking for investors and an editor it published . To which will create an expert group to decide what stories deserve to be supported (it will be interesting to see which model to use for this important detail).

What do you think this kind of initiative? I wonder if this the way to the future of photojournalism , or at least a good part of it.
