D-CAN: Developing the concept of the cylindrical chamber

The designer Jean-Michel Bonnemoy believes that the current design of the cameras is wrong. He says the only reason why a camera should have a rectangular shape with a central objective responds to mechanical issues in analogue photography, in which the camera body remains that it is in the design that best fits the photographic film.

So has designed the D- CAN , a cylindrical chamber whose design reminds us a bit to Lytro even more elaborate and according Bonnemoy is more manageable than the current chamber design. According to the designer view, there is no reason to keep that classic form in digital cameras and the future could be in this type of design.
