Nikon has announced together with the D4 , a new 85mm short telephoto lens, the AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G.
This lens is the new heir to the 85mm range, which is the ideal portrait lens by Nikon. The 85mm f/1.8G uses a completely new optical design which consists of 9 elements in 9 groups and a quieter engine and precise autofocus. This 85mm, "sealed" by the way, weighs only 350 grams, making it lighter than its predecessors. It supports both formats and DX Nikon FX (127.5mm equivalent in DX). It comes with two umbrellas Nikon HB-62 and its corresponding soft pouch. It goes on sale in late March this year with a price around 500 euros.
